Rajasthan government terminates affiliation of Jalore Pvt school after a Dalit was killed…

The education minister of Rajasthan, B D Kalla said that the government had been in the process of terminating the affiliation of Jalore, the private school in which a minor boy belonging to Dalit was killed. A teacher allegedly beat the boy up in his school to the point where he succumbed to injuries. The education minister held a statement with the reporters in Bikaner where he said, “The affiliation of the school is being terminated. At the same time, an advisory will be issued so that no such incident occurs in the future”. 

The boy who was tragically deceased hailed from Dalit background. He was identified as Indra Kumar a nine-year-old little boy. The incident occurred as Indra Kumar drank some water from the water pot in Saraswati Vidya Mandir and agitated by Indra’s actions the teachers allegedly beat the boy to the extent of death. Even after years, discriminatory actions cost lives. The teachers were furious at nine-year-old Indra as the water he drank was meant for teachers, and Indra as a Dalit contaminated it when he touched it. The horrific discriminatory act took place on July 20, 2022. 

The boy was taken to a hospital in Ahmedabad for further treatment where he succumbed to his injuries and died on Saturday. The teacher accused of little Indra’s death, Chail Singh of the Jalore private school. Police officials informed that the accused teacher, Chail Singh, has been arrested and booked him under the relevant sections of the murder of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
