Jamia Islamia student shot inside Delhi’s Holy Family Hospital

An incident of firing was reported inside the Holy Family Hospital!


On Thursday, An incident of firing was reported inside the Holy Family Hospital in southeast Delhi's Jamia Nagar area.  During this incident, one person sustained injuries.


According to police, they received a call about a fight between two student groups at Jamia Milia Islamia University at 8.51.


Police said a fight broke out between two student groups inside the library of Jamia Millia Islamia University, adding that the fight left one student, 26-year-old Noman Chaudhary from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, with a blunt injury to the head.


Police said Chaudhary was admitted to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment, adding that when another student, Nauman Ali, a friend of Chaudhary, went to see him at the hospital, another group led by Zalal from Haryana’s Mewat opened fire outside the emergency ward of the hospital.


Police said Ali received superficial injuries to the scalp and was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre.


As per the information, Recently, amid the tensions over the National Investigating Agencies (NIA) second round of raids across the country to nab the Popular Front of India (PFI) activists, Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) issued a notice to its students and teachers to not assemble in and around the campus as section 144 had been imposed across the Okhla area.
