Jamia Nursing Student Jumps off Delhi Flyover

Day Before Exam; Incident Near Barakhamba Road Reported by Police.


A student pursuing a B.Sc in Nursing at Jamia Millia Islamia reportedly leaped from the Ranjit Singh flyover near Barakhamba Road in New Delhi on Sunday, according to the police. The student is currently receiving medical treatment.

The police stated that the beat patrolling staff of Barakhamba Road police station observed an individual lying beneath the flyover near Lalit Hotel.

A senior police official stated that upon investigation, it was uncovered that the individual threw his bag onto the road before jumping himself. Identified as Mohd Chand, 25, residing in Patel Nagar, he was promptly transported to Lady Hardinge Hospital by a PCR van.

He mentioned that two eyewitnesses observed him jumping off the flyover.

The motive behind Chand's actions is still under investigation. Police mentioned that Chand, originally from Bihar's Vaishali district and currently in his fifth semester, had taken an exam on Saturday and was scheduled to appear for another exam on Monday.
