Japan’s E-Commerce CEO exclaim Olympics as "Suicide Mission"


The head of Japan’s E-Commerce CEO Rakuten warned people, as holding the Tokyo Olympics games this summer would be a “Suicide Mission". In an interview with CNN, CEO Hiroshi Mikitani exclaims it will be dangerous to host a big international event from all over the world. The risk would be big enough and he was against conducting the Tokyo Olympics this year. As  Japan has contracted the coronavirus, many nations are battling with this infection.

Due to this, it pressured many country's healthcare systems as there were shortages and burnouts. As there are only 10 weeks left until the Games open on July 23, public opinion remains opposed, with most favoring a further delay or cancellation. A petition was also spread among the people of 351,000 whose signatures were submitted to the city's governor.

CEO Hiroshi is worried about the epidemic and the government holding Tokyo Games this year, moreover, he says, it is still not too late to cancel it by saying, "Everything is possible.". But the government says they will follow up all protocols in conducting the event, in support of withholding the event, PM  Yoshihide Suga also agrees saying ``We want to firmly go ahead with preparations".
