Jaya Bachchan is all set to campaign for Trinamool Congress in Bengal Assembly elections
A significant development in the high profile ongoing Bengal Assembly elections, has been seen with the entry of Samajwadi Party MP and known actor Jaya .Ms. Bachchan, who arrived in Kolkata last night, is slated to campaign for Mamta's Trinamool Congress. Kickstarting the campaign, Ms. Bachchan, will be seen promoting three-time Tollygunge MLA Aroop Biswas against B.J.P's Babul Supriyo.
The development can be seen as important on two accounts; firstly Babul Supriyo is a popular singer and holds sway in Tollygunge which is often called the 'cinema district' of West Bengal and Jaya Bachchan will be given the role of star campaigner of Trinamool against B.J.P.'s Mr. Supriyo. Also Jaya's foray into Bengal elections, mark the coming together oF the Anti-B.J.P. front including Samajwadi Party, RJD , N.C.P. and Shiv Sena. Ms. Banerjee has been emphasising, since the beginning of the campaign, the need for all non-BJP parties, to form alliance.
The BJP, which has never succeeded in forming government in Bengal, hs pushed in a vigorous campaign in West Bengal to mark a dent in Ms Banerjee's bastion.
