Reliance group telecom unit began its 5G

On 10 January 2023, the Reliance Jio Infocomm of Mukesh Ambani became the first telecom company to launch True 5G specific plan in 88 cities with 61 data top up schemes that provide 6 GB Data with welcome offers to the customers in Jaipur, Delhi, Agra and more.

On Monday the Jio added 10 new cities in its coverage of 5G connectivity that included Agra, Kanpur, Meerut, Prayagraj, (Uttar Pradesh), Tirupati, Nellore (Andhra Pradesh), Kozhikode, Thrissur (Kerala), Nagpur, Ahmednagar (Maharashtra).

Users with 239 and above prepaid recharge plan will have the eligibility to receive a welcome offer who have a 5G enabled device. Before the welcome offer the users enjoyed the 5G speed with an add on pack of Rs. 61 that provides 10 times faster connectivity till the existing plan ends. The add on pack will be valid for the users who have prepaid packs less than 239.

The telecom mentioned that this is the first and the only operator to launch 5G. According to the Company the offer will have unlimited data speed up to 1 Gbps+ at no extra cost.

Users can check their welcome offer in their Jio application and change the setting of their phone before connecting to the new network offer.
