Kalash Yatra in Gujarat during Corona period, 24 arrested

Thousands of women and men gathered in the village of Navapura and Nidhrad in Sanand town of Ahmedabad district in the midst of the corona epidemic in Gujarat and took out the Kalash Yatra from the Baliyadev temple. After the video went viral on the internet media, the police registered a case and arrested 24 people, while the procession was taken out under the protection of the police. Minister of State for Home Pradeep Singh Jadeja bluntly said that there is a complete ban on social and religious ceremonies in the state. Apart from these, action has also been taken against the music playing and the organizer of the event. All restrictions including night curfew are in force in the state.

The local police car was stationed under the security of this procession, after the video of the procession went viral, the police registered a police complaint against the organizers and arrested 24, but this incident has raised questions on the functioning of the government and administration. The day the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani prepared a new guide to curb the corona in the state, a religious procession was publicly organized in the district of Ahmedabad, in the presence of the police, even when the common man was out without a mask.
