Kangana Ranaut has wrapped another schedule of her upcoming biopic, Thalaivi based on the life of Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J. Jayalalithaa. For this role, the 33-year-old actress had to gain her weight about 20 kgs, she revealed recently through her Instagram “I had gained 20kgs for Thalaivi, now that we are very close to completing it, need to go back to my earlier size, agility, metabolism and flexibility. Waking up early and going for a jog/walk ... who all are with me?”

Kangana, earlier revealed that she took hormone pills for her transformation into Jayalalithaa. “Since I am tall and skinny, and my face is angular, not round, I had to take mild doses of hormone pills to look different. Of course, I also started eating foods that promote weight gain.” Kangana told during an interview.

During lockdown, Kangana followed a tight fitness schedule and was training hard in Manali with her trainer who had trained her during Rangoon and Tanu Weds Manu as well. However, now the actress is almost back in shape to prepare to her role in films Tejas and Dhaakad. She had some serious fitness goals for herself and was ardently practicing yoga and other forms of cardio like walking and jogging.

In Thailaivi, Arvind Swami will feature as Maruthur Gopala Ramachandran (MGR). Directed by Vijay and co-produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh, the film was to be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu on June 26, 2020 but was postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
