Karnataka govt set to install unicorn logo in Bengaluru

The logo is likely to be put up near Vidhana Soudha!


The Bommai-led government in Karnataka is aiming to install a unicorn logo in Bengaluru, to feature the state’s capital for having the greatest number of start-ups and unicorns in the whole country.

 

As per the information, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, on Monday, instructed officials to eye a suitable place in the city to put up a unicorn logo. A unicorn, is a privately held start-up company with a current valuation of US$1 billion (Rs 7,900 crore) or more, across technology or software sectors.

 

As per the information, The design is likely to be put up at some place near Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the state legislature and secretariat of Karnataka, chosen by the concerned officials.

 

India has witnessed a surge in the number of such startups in recent years. Bengaluru is listed as the top and most funded start-up hub in the country, by Inc42 in its The State of Indian Start-up Ecosystem Report, 2022.

 

The survey which was presented in Parliament on January 31, mentioned that Delhi has more than 5,000 start-ups, while Bengaluru had 4,514 new start-ups. However, Bengaluru is now leading the race.

 

According to the statement, CM Bommai directed authorities on Monday, to install a unicorn logo in Bengaluru to feature the city as the start-up capital of the nation. The unicorn logo is currently being designed by a financial solutions company, confirmed news agency PTI.
