Karnataka reopens schools and Anganwadis from today

Covid-19 situation is now improving in the state.


 The Bruhat  Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) of Karnataka has permitted the reopening of schools and Anganwadis from today (monday).

 

As per the statement, the BBMP said, the physical classes will restart in the areas with less than a 2 per cent testing positivity rate. Adding more the order said, all teachers must be inoculated with both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. They have to take consent letters from the children's parents and also detailed the timing schedule. It said schools will resume for two hours 10 -12 pm. Parents who are sending their kids must be completely vaccinated.


 

A fresh guideline has been issued by the civic body in view of the reopening of schools and Anganwadi.  The civic body has taken its decision as per the recommendation of the technical advisory committee it said the schools will be reopened with limits with strict Covid-19 appropriate behaviour including social distancing, face masks, regular sanitisation.



 

Covid-19 second wave has led to the closure of schools, colleges and educational institutions throughout the country. Schools in the state have been closed for years. The students are involved in an online mode of education.  Earlier the Karnataka Government had reopened its physical classes in the state for students from classes 1 to 5 on October 25 and 6 to 8 on September 6 and for 9 to 12 on August 23.


According to the report given by the health department on Saturday, the state reported 224 new Covid-19 cases and 5 deaths.
