Kerala Knocks Supreme Court over Center's Decision to lease Airport to Adani Group

The Center’s decision to lease out the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to the business giant Adani Enterprise did not go well with the Kerala State Government, so they have gone to the Supreme Court (SC) questioning a stay on the Central Government’s move.

The Kerala High Court dismissed this petition filed by the Kerala Government last month, leading the Kerala Government to knock the Supreme Court. After an all party meeting conducted by the state government, the state has made a firm decision to challenge the Center’s decision.

Kerala state’s minister Kadakampally Surendran has said “The center's decision to ‘sell’ the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to a private player is a daylight robbery”. He also highlighted a point that the state had done everything for the airport including providing land for its construction.
