Kerala: Social Media artist held for raping a college student

A popular social media artist hailing from Kerala has been arrested for allegedly raping a college student in Kerala. The incident took place about a month ago in a lodge in the Thampanoor area in Kerala’s state capital.  

 

The SHO on the case of the Thampanoor police station told PTI that the accused star has been arrested on Saturday and was presented before a magisterial court the same day where he was given 14 days of judicial custody. 

 

The inspector on the case, Prakash R, informed that the accused had met the woman, a college student at a famous social networking event and he was in a relationship with her for a few weeks. Prakash R informed that the accused asked the woman to come along with him to buy a car and on the way back he took her to the lodge, saying he wanted to refresh himself. The officer said that he raped the woman in the lodge. 

 

The woman after the incident was profoundly disturbed and in grief, she started questioning around and asked his friends about him. The friends of the accused also informed that the artist had been in numerous illegal relationships with women and that he was not a trustworthy person at all, the police informed. 

 

Consequently, she lodged a complaint at the Thampanoor police station, the officer said that the mobile phone of the accused had several illegal videos of women compromising the case further. 

 

Apart from the instant case, the accused has also been facing charges of causing hurt and theft in two separate police stations in the state capital. The officer said he also looks distinctively different in real life compared to his online videos.
