Kolkata Based Tea Stall Sells Tea For Rs. 1000/- Per Cup

Teas stall in Kolkata sell a cup of tea for 1000 rupees


India is a country where tea is the staple drink and chai-breaks are more of a tradition. Countless Indians love for tea is clear as every lane and street is seen with tea stalls opening up at every corner. One tea seller in Kolkata has taken things a level higher in Mukundpur called Nijash and sells varieties of tea that range from Rs.12/- to Rs.1000/- for a cup. Partha Pritam Ganguly is the owner of the tea shop and he serves 100 varieties of tea every day.

The highest costing tea is priced at Rs.1000/- and it is a Bo-Lei tea which costs Rs 3 Lakh per kilogram. Bo-Lei is also known as Pu-Erh tea or Puer, Po-Lei, Bolay tea and Dark Tea is a tea made in China. The tea Bo-lei is made in China from Camellia Sinensis tea which is the same plant that is used to make green tea and black tea. Beside Bio-Lei the other varieties of tea the stall serves include Blue Tisane Tea, Teesta Valley Tea, Silver Needle White Tea, Lavender Tea, Hibiscus Tea, Wine Tea, Tulsi Ginger Tea, Makaibari Tea, Rooibos Tea and Okayti Tea.

Partha’s story itself is an inspiration for those who want to pursue their passion. He earlier had plans to have a fulltime job but later he quit his job to start a tea stall but with an edge. In 2014 he started this tea stall and slowly gained popularity among the tea consumers of Kolkata.  He is not only good at selling tea but also holds knowledge about properties of each tea variant.
