Land Allotment Certificate issued by PM in Assam

People of Assam got recognition for their land.

With the promise of helping people get "recognition" for their land, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today distributed land redistribution papers to the indigenous people in Assam, where elections will be held this year. "It is unfortunate that although so many years have passed since independence, there are those in Assam who have not yet received their land," Prime Minister Modi said.

Later, he will fly to Kolkata to open a permanent museum dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose for the birthday celebrations of freedom fighters. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will also address the event in Kolkata on the 125th birthday of Netaji. The election of a legal assembly in West Bengal is only a few months away."... There were lakhs who did not have documents for their land. But now, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal ji and his government have worked to ensure that people are respected," said Prime Minister Modi.

While the BJP hopes to stay in Assam after its efforts to improve the state, the party wants to open a Trinamool Congress seat and take part in Prime Minister Modi's voting campaign in West Bengal. Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah arrived in Assam before the arrival of the Prime Minister.

The All Assam Students Union (AASU) on Friday staged a march on their demands, including the repeal of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. AASU agrees with the repeal of the Environmental Impact Assessment Act, as well as the implementation of the report of the Section 6 Assam Accord committee, which protects the constitutional rights of indigenous peoples.
