Police Investigate; Services Halted Briefly


Metro Rail services in Bengaluru were interrupted today as a 19-year-old college student tragically lost his life by jumping in front of a moving train at Attihuppe station, according to officials.

 

Officials stated that Dhruv Thakkar, originally from Mumbai, was a first-year student at the National Law School in Bengaluru.

 

Police reported that no suicide note was found, emphasizing that the motives behind Dhruv Thakkar's decision to take such a drastic step remain to be determined.

 

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) stated that the incident took place at 2:10 pm.

 

After the incident, Metro services on the purple line experienced a temporary disruption, with trains operating only between Magadi Road and Whitefield. Additionally, services between Magadi Road and Challaghatta were suspended.

 

The BMRCL later confirmed that the police had transported the body to the hospital for a post-mortem examination and stated that train operations on the purple line resumed after receiving clearance from the police.

 

The police also mentioned that they would be reviewing CCTV footage to determine the precise sequence of events.
