LJP leader Chirag Paswan writes to LS Speaker to issue a new circular in his favour

Chirag Paswan mentioned in the letter that the decision of appointing his uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras as the leader of the LJP in the lower house in place of him is "contrary" to the provision of the Constitution of his party.

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) leader Chirag Paswan on Wednesday wrote to the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urging him to issue a circular that states Mr Paswan still holds the position of the leader of the party in the Lok Sabha. He also mentioned in the letter that the decision of appointing his uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras as the leader of the LJP in the lower house in place of him is "contrary" to the provision of the Constitution of his party. Mr Paswan wrote that according to Article 26 of the Constitution of Lok Janshakti Party, it empowers the Central Parliamentary Board of the party to make a decision of who would be the leader of their party in the Lok Sabha. Due to this, the decision of announcing Mr Pashupati Kumar Paras MP as Leader of LJP party in the Lok Sabha is contrary to the provision of Constitution of their party. Mr Paswan also mentioned in the letter about his decision to suspend five MPs who revolted against him, including his uncle. Meanwhile, the five rebels had removed Mr Paswan from the post of president of the party on Tuesday.
