Lord Ganesha Idols Made Of Chocolate And Seashells

The celebrations of Ganesha Chaturthi festival began Friday morning across the country amid COVID-19 restrictions.

On the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi, devotees show their creativity by making idols of Lord Ganesha with seashells and chocolate.

Renowned sand artist and Padma Shri awardee, Mr. Sudarsan Pattnaik, for the first time made Lord Ganesha with 7000 seashells on his sand art installation with the message of world peace, at Puri beach in Odisha.

Whereas in the city of Punjab, a Ludhiana based bakery man made a Ganesha statue with dark chocolate and shared it on social media. "We've been making chocolate Ganesh since 2015 to send a message that we should celebrate festivals in eco-friendly ways," said bakery owner Harjinder Singh Kukreja.

Various restrictions are strictly imposed according to the government orders. The city's largest festival usually takes place for ten days, but in some places longer. The ten-day festival is celebrated with enthusiasm and fervor across the country. Ganeshotsav celebrations will begin today and end after 10 days with Anant Chaturdashi, also known as Ganesh Visarjan.

On the day of Ganesh Visarjan, the idols of Lord Ganesha are submerged and devotees pray to Lord Ganesha. People often make sweet "modak" for this particular occasion.
