Lucknow Man Strangles Wife in Alleged Fit of Jealousy

Children Slain as Witnesses to Lucknow Tragedy

A 32-year-old man in Lucknow was found to have killed his wife and two children, staying by their deceased bodies for three nights until the stench revealed his crime, as per police reports on Sunday.

Ram Lagan allegedly strangled his wife, Jyoti, 30, using her dupatta in front of their children, suspecting her of infidelity. He then proceeded to kill their two children, Payal (6) and Anand (3), at their rented residence, apparently to prevent them from revealing the truth to the authorities.

The tragic incident took place in the Saravan Nagar area of Bijnor locality in Lucknow.

According to TS Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Ram Lagan, who had been married for seven years, harbored suspicions of his wife's alleged extramarital affair? He frequently monitored her phone conversations, leading to frequent arguments between them. The culmination of one such argument on the night of March 28 resulted in him fatally harming his wife and children.

Following the triple murder, the accused remained in the same room overnight, seemingly unaffected by the presence of his deceased wife and children. He departed the next morning and returned later that evening.

This pattern persisted for three days until the landlord detected a foul odor emanating from the residence. With the door left unlocked, upon entry, the landlord discovered the bodies of the wife and children stuffed into a sack, as stated by the police.

Ram Lagan, unable to remove the bodies in the bustling neighborhood, purportedly informed neighbors that his family had departed for a relative's home to celebrate Holi. Subsequently, the police detained him, and he admitted to the crime. The bodies have been dispatched for post-mortem examination.

Further investigation is on.
