Mamata Banerjee Injured After Slip at Home

PM Wishes Mamata Banerjee Quick Recovery

Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, sustained a notable injury to her forehead after slipping at her residence, as per sources within the TMC. She has been promptly taken to SSKM Hospital for treatment and is currently under medical supervision.

According to TMC sources, Mamata Banerjee, the party chief, had just returned to her residence on Harish Chatterjee Street from an event when the incident occurred. A senior TMC leader stated that she slipped while walking in her drawing room and fell, with her head hitting a glass showcase. This resulted in a deep cut on her forehead and significant bleeding.

Abhishek Banerjee, her nephew, was also in the house when the accident occurred.

Firhad Hakim, the Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, stated, "She suffered an injury at her house and was promptly rushed to SSKM hospital."

Following the news of her accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery for the TMC leader. "I pray for a quick recovery and the best health for Mamata Didi," the PM said in a post on social media.

Before the accident, Mamata had visited Gariahat at Ekdalia Evergreen club to inaugurate an idol of former minister Subrata Mukherjee.

This year marks the second instance of a significant accident involving the West Bengal Chief Minister. Earlier in January, while returning to Kolkata after attending an administrative meeting in Burdwan, Mamata Banerjee narrowly escaped a potential car accident. Near Burdwan city, her convoy encountered a speeding car, allegedly traveling at 200 kmph. Despite efforts by her driver to avert the collision, Banerjee's head hit the dashboard, causing swelling and concussion.
