Man Kidnaps, Rapes 13-Year-Old In Noida

Victim’s elder brother approached the police


A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 23-year-old man who lived in the same neighbourhood as the victim in a village under the Sector 142 police station in Noida.

According to a report published in the Times of India (TOI), the accused was identified as Pramod, is a native of Sambhal and an electrician by profession who has been absconding since the crime.

On Thursday, The Gautam Budh Nagar police arrested the accused from Noida sector 143.

As per reports by Hindustan Times (HT), the victim’s elder brother had approached the police on Wednesday, January 12, alleging that Pramod had abducted and sexually assaulted his minor sister when she was on her way to a shop in the village on Sunday evening.

It was later that the victim returned home and narrated the ordeal to her family.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim’s brother, a case was registered against the accused under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 376 (punishment for sexual assault) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Sector 142 police station.

However, on the basis of surveillance, police managed to arrest the accused from Noida sector 143 metro station area on Thursday.

Meanwhile, during the investigation, it was revealed that another kidnapping case of a 20-year-old woman was registered against the accused at the Vijay Nagar police station in Ghaziabad in February.
