Man Kills Wife In Noida

Throws Body In Yamuna River…


On Tuesday, a man who lived in Noida; suspected his wife of an extramarital affair.

He was arrested on charges of murdering her and throwing the body tied with big rocks and stuffed in a rack into the Yamuna River, police informed.

The couple, Shravan and Usha both lived in the Chhatanga Khurd village in the Jewar police station area, they said.

"On Monday, Shravan filed a missing complaint about his wife at the local police station, and the same day, Usha's family members, who live in Aligarh, also reached the police alleging she had been killed by Shravan," a senior police officer said.

"Shravan was taken into custody for questioning. He admitted to having strangled his wife to death on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

He then stuffed the body in a sack and filled it with some bricks before dumping it in the Yamuna," the officer said.

During further interrogation, Shravan, a daily wage earner, said that he believed that his wife had an extramarital affair with a person in their village due to which they would fight on a regular basis, the officer said.

On Tuesday, a First Information Report (FIR) under Indian Penal Code section 302 (murder) was filed against Shravan at the Jewar police station, police said.

A team of the National Disaster Response Force and specialist divers from Meerut were engaged to find the body from the Yamuna River, they added.
