Man strangulated wife to death in Greater Noida

Unhappy with marriage, man kills his wife who suffered from elephantiasis over an argument


 On Sunday, around 4:45 pm a man allegedly murdered his wife who was suffering from elephantiasis by strangulating her in a the Sutyana village of Ecotech III police station area. Kundan Kumar worked in a mattress making factory. The police stated that he had married Lakshmi (22) a year back but was not happy with the relationship. He killed his wife following an argument on Sunday.

 

The couple had come to stay in the house of Ajaypal alias Ajju in Sutyana village of Greater Noida about one and half month back. The victim’s sister Chanda Kumari was also staying there who told the police that her sister suffered from elephantiasis in her feet which made them extremely swollen.

 

“He was unhappy with the marriage since the beginning and would usually fight with my sister over small issues. On Sunday evening, my brother-in-law again fought with my sister and strangulated her with a broad rope before escaping from the spot,” said the sister. She resided in another room in the same building and found the victim’s body lying unconscious on the ground.

 

“The woman was strangulated with a broad belt-type rope found lying near her body,” said Ecotech III SHO Bhubanesh Kumar. He further added that Kundan fled from the spot after murdering his wife and the dead body was discovered by the sister who then immediately informed the police. An FIR has been lodged against Kundan under IPC section 302 (murder) and was later arrested by the police on Monday.
