MANISH SISODIA LAUNCHES CODE- A -THON CAMPAIGN

Coding Campaign launched for Government School Students


Education minister,  Manish Sisodia launched CODE-A-THON  coding campaign on Thursday, under which students from government school will be able to learn to code.

Its main aim is to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)  education in the national capital Delhi.

He quoted Steve Jobs when he was launching and said that coding is a new generation liberal art and everyone should learn computer coding because it teaches you how to think and said about the importance of coding by stating that coding "Helps in thinking". He also interacted with the school kids who were present at the event.

CODE-A-THON campaign students will go through self-learning and students will get an opportunity to practice it, This project was going to get started in January in collaboration with she codes foundation and 870 girls students were trained till now, but due to COVID pandemic, they decided to make it online and create it a bigger one.

Six students from she code presented their animated video and they have made it from the scratch on their smartphone, they added their voice, other tools, logical thinking and created it amazing.

Some topics were very informative like -  

"Good touch, bad touch"," Beti Bachao, Beti padhao",  "COVID awareness" and many more topics related to awareness and information we're presented during the launching ceremony of CODE -A-THON.

Manish Sisodia, 'congratulated all the students' and interacted with them and asked about their obstacles and journey and also interacted with computer teachers and about them working hard and thanked volunteers from IIT Delhi.
