Manoj Tiwari asks Delhi CM to permit celebration of Chhath puja with appropriate Covid-19 behaviour

"We are not going to accept a complete ban," said MP Manoj Tiwari.


On Saturday, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, urged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to permit all devotees to celebrate the upcoming festival of Chhath puja with appropriate Covid-19 behaviour. 

According to the statement he said, "I urge CM Kejriwal to shed his adamancy and allow devotees to celebrate chhath puja while following Covid-19 protocols. We are ready to follow every protocol, be it social distancing, mask, sanitisation or vaccination. We are not going to accept a complete ban," said the member of parliament.

Meanwhile, the BJP MP also interacted with the people of the Purvanchali community residing in the national capital and asked for their opinion regarding this celebration.

Whereas ramleela celebrations have been permitted with certain conditions but chhath puja is banned in Delhi. As per the statement, DDMA said, "Nowhere in Delhi can Chhath puja be organised in public groups on the banks of a river or pond or in parks."
