Massive Fire Broke Out At Hospital In Jharkhand

6 killed in the accident!


On Friday night, At-least six people, including two doctors, died of suffocation after a massive fire broke out at Hazra Hospital in Purana Bazar in Jharkhand's Dhanbad. Meanwhile, nine people were rescued from the accident spot.

The deceased have been identified as Dr. Vikas Hazra and his wife Dr. Prema Hazra and many other employees of the hospital.

The fire reportedly erupted on the 2nd floor of the hospital due to a short circuit there. Gradually, it spread and engulfed the 1st floor where people who were sleeping could not get a chance to escape from there.

With no arrangements to douse the blaze, the room soon filled with a large amount of smoke due to which six people including a doctor couple died of suffocation.

Fire department was informed, after which 2 fire engines rushed to the spot and rescued a total of 9 people from both sides of the hospital. All of them have been admitted to the nearby Pataliputra nursing home where they are undergoing treatment.

According to the fire department personnel, there was no special security arrangement to prevent the fire in the hospital. Even the antifire machine was also not active, which highlights the negligence in the security system.
