Massive Jams Anticipated Ahead of Farmers' March Towards Delhi '

Traffic moves at a speed of 1 kilometer per hour…

In preparation for a large farmers' march to the national capital, New Delhi's crucial border points linking it with surrounding satellite towns are experiencing heavy congestion due to numerous road diversions.

Long lines of vehicles were observed along the highways at the Ghazipur and Chilla borders, linking Delhi with Ghaziabad and Noida in Uttar Pradesh.

A stranded commuter on the DND flyover informed NDTV that they had only covered "a kilometre in over an hour." They reported, "The traffic has been at a standstill for the past 30 minutes. Police officers are indicating that the road isn't completely closed, but extensive checks are being conducted at the fencing area ahead."

Slow-moving traffic is also reported on NH-48, the highway linking Delhi with Gurugram, with vehicles undergoing thorough checks before entering the national capital.

Multiple border points, such as Ghazipur, Singhu, and Tikri, have been reinforced to deter protesting farmers from entering Delhi.

Concrete blocks and multiple layers of barricades have been set up along highways to halt the passage of tractors and trollies at the border points. Barbed wire and nails have also been deployed to enhance the barriers on the roads.

The farmers engaged in discussions with a government delegation last night; however, consensus was not reached on three of their primary demands, including the implementation of a law guaranteeing the minimum support price (MSP).

According to the latest guidelines from the Delhi Traffic Police, the entry of goods vehicles via the Greater Noida Expressway into Delhi has been prohibited. Additionally, goods vehicles are not permitted to travel between Sirsa in Haryana and Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh via Parichowk.

Travelers heading to Delhi from the DND border are advised to utilize the elevated road via Sector 18 from Film City. For commuters from the Chilla side, the recommended route includes using the Sector 14A Flyover, Roundabout Chowk, Sector 15 via Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, and Jhundapura Chowk.

For those traveling from Kalindi Kunj Border to Delhi, it is recommended to use the Mahamaya Flyover. Additionally, when using the Yamuna Expressway, commuters are advised to exit from Jewar Toll towards Khurja and opt for the Jahangirpur route.
