MBBS Students, Dentists To Aid Doctors in Delhi for COVID-19

Doctors in Government hospitals to be assisted by Dentists and M.B.B.S. Students


Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister of Delhi on Monday gave orders to the 4th and 5th year MBBS students and dentists to be permitted to assist in hospitals and COVID-19 Internal Care Units (ICU) to meet the shortage of health care workers in Delhi. This decision only came through because of the surge in the total number of cases of the coronavirus pandemic.The total number of active cases reported are 40,212 and recoveries being 4, 81,260. The death toll is numbered at 8,391 according to the Ministry of health and Family Welfare’s (MoHFW) report on Monday in Delhi.

The Delhi Government earlier on Wednesday directed hospitals to include 4th and 5th year MBBS students, interns and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) doctors to assist the doctors on duty to control the pandemic.The order, dated November 18, comes at a time when hospitals are over flowing  with an increasing number of infections spreading faster every single day, leading to an overwhelming number of deaths in the last couple of days.
