MHA Says No Nationwide Anti-Conversion Law By Center

Center Has No Plans To Bring Central “Anti-Conversion” Law says MHA


On Tuesday, Lok Sabha was informed that the central government has no plans to legislate an anti-conversion law to curb inter-faith marriages, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) added that such laws are concerns of the state governments. The Ministry said that the center has no such plans in response to a question in the Lok Sabha. In view of the controversial anti-conversions laws brought by the state government of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh the central government was questioned.

The governments of the state Assam and Karnataka have announced that they will soon bring in a similar law to curb inter-faith marriages.
