Cause of Death Confirmed as Cervical Cancer, According to Her Team


Poonam Pandey, a model and reality TV star, passed away from cervical cancer, as confirmed by her manager today. The news has triggered surprise and speculation due to the absence of detailed information or a family statement.

 

The 32-year-old, recently featured on the reality show Lock Upp, "courageously battled the illness" and passed away this morning, as stated by her team.

 

"Poonam Pandey, the cherished actress and social media personality, has sadly left us this morning due to Cervical Cancer, leaving the entertainment industry in disbelief and sorrow," expressed her manager, Nikita Sharma.

 

"Her unwavering spirit during her health battles was truly remarkable," Ms. Sharma emphasized, underscoring the "urgent need for heightened awareness and proactive measures against preventable diseases like Cervical Cancer."

 

Social media reactions varied from disbelief to skepticism, with numerous individuals noting that the model had been seen on the red carpet at a Goa event just three days ago.

 

The news of Poonam Pandey's passing surfaced a day after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled plans for cervical cancer vaccination for girls aged 9 to 14 as part of her interim Budget 2024.

 

Media manager Parul Chawla, initially reported to have confirmed her death, later clarified that Poonam Pandey's sister had called "regarding her sudden demise," and she was awaiting further details.

 

"This is to place on record that we have received a call from her family member (sister) this morning regarding her sudden demise (as posted on her official Insta id). We are awaiting further information from the family to update everyone. We will release an official statement as we receive the further update to be shared," clarified Ms. Chawla.
