Modi visits Assam, launches projects worth ?14000 crore

He inaugurated the first AIIMS medical facility of North East


On Friday morning Prime Minister Narendra Modi came Assam to lay the foundation stone and dedicate to the nation projects worth around ?14,300 crore. The Ministers visit time time is a packed schedule where is has many events to attend on the same day. 

 

Firstly after arriving Modi went to inaugurate the newly built first ever AIIMS medical facility of northeast in Guwahati. The foundation stone for AIIMS Guwahati was laid in 2017 by the PM himself and it has been built at a cost of more than 1120 crores. 

 

Apart from this Modi has also virtually inaugurated three medical colleges at Nalbari, Kokrajhar and Nagaon. The 500-bed tertiary care teaching hospitals with 24 undergraduate departments in the three medical colleges will start with 100 annual MBBS student intake, taking the total MBBS student intake to 1500 in Assam.

 

He has also  laid the groundwork for the Assam Advanced Health Care Innovation Institute (AAHII) and begin the 'Aapke Dwar Ayushman' campaign, which would include the distribution of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) cards to eligible beneficiaries.

 

Following this he is expected to attend the programme marking the platinum Jubilee Celebrations of Guwahati High Court at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Guwahati.

 

At 5 p.m., Prime Minister Modi will arrive at Guwahati's Sarusajai Stadium to preside over a public gathering, where he will see a vibrant Bihu programme performed by over 10,000 Bihu dancers. During the programme, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for and dedicate to the nation various development projects, including the commissioning of a 500 TPD Menthol Plant in Namrup, the laying of the foundation stone for a bridge on the Brahmaputra River connecting Palashbari and Sualkuchi, the laying of the foundation stone for the beautification of Rang Ghar in Sivasagar, and the dedication of five railway projects to the nation.
