Mohammed Al- Fayed, dies at 94

Businessman and a billionaire...

94-year-old tycoon Mohamed Al-Fayed, the notorious billionaire and father of Dodi who died in 1997 together with Princess Diana, has passed away, his family announced on Friday

In a statement issued by the football team he previously owned, Fulham FC, his family wrote, "Mrs Mohamed Al-Fayed, her children and grandchildren wish to confirm that their grandfather, their father, and their beloved husband, Mohamed, had passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023."

He spent his entire long and happy retirement with his loved ones. At this time, the family has requested that their privacy be maintained.

The things for which Fayed will be most notably remembered include his blunt and frequently profane demeanor, his desire for Conservative Party vengeance, his contentious purchase of the Harrods department store, his ownership of the Fulham football team, and the Ritz hotel in Paris.

Fayed was a philanthropist whose foundation assisted kids in the UK, Thailand, and Mongolia. His business empire included shipping, real estate, banking, oil, retail, and construction.

Together with his brother, Fayed purchased the Ritz in 1979, and six years later, after a protracted takeover struggle, the two bought Harrods.
