Monsoon set to revive in North India, orange alert issued in Delhi: IMD. There will be fairly widespread rainfall in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal


According to the statement, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the central and adjoining Peninsular India will experience enhanced rainfall activities during the next 2-3 days. There will be fairly widespread rainfall in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. It also said that the activity will continue on Madhya Pradesh on Friday, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand are expected to witness isolated heavy rainfall on Thursday which will continue till Saturday. Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh will get rainfall for two days on Friday as well as Saturday. 

The national capital witnessed heavy rainfalls a few weeks ago after which a flood like situation occurred in several parts of Delhi. Meanwhile,  heavy rain in the National capital also led to traffic conditions whereas an orange alert has been issued for Delhi. 

According to the statement given by weather experts, "good rainfall" in the last 10 days of the month is expected to cover the precipitation deficit in the national capital.
