Months after quitting AAP, Elvis Gomes joins Congress

In a meeting with the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi two days ago, Elvis Gomes has decided to join the Congress party.


On Sunday, former convenor of AAP Elvis Gomes joined the Congress at a ceremony. He was AAP's CM candidate in the 2017  Assembly polls. In a meeting with the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi two days ago, Elvis Gomes has decided to join the Congress party. In the statement, Elvis Gomes explained, he had not joined any party for eight-nine months because he had given himself time to choose the best after a lot of thinking about this matter.

In the ceremony, Elvis Gomes was present with Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Girish Chodankar and Leader of Opposition, and former CM Digambar Kamat. It was a pride for Elvis Gomes to join Congress as he always wanted to put Goa above where the congress was an ideology, he also spoke about, how people came and, defected betrayed the Congress but will be a  vocal critic of Congress and he will continue in supporting congress if criticize things happens again, he adds.
