More than 1.5 lakh auto-taxi drivers of Delhi will be given Rs.5000 by Delhi Government

Due to the lockdown, the Delhi government has announced a financial assistance of five thousand rupees to the auto and taxi drivers.


The ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi will give a huge relief from Monday, adding five thousand rupees to the account of one lakh 56 thousand autos and taxis. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot has given this confidence in an online meeting with auto and taxi drivers on Sunday. With this, he has said that those people who were not registered for any reason last year and could not get the amount, such drivers will be able to register themselves from Tuesday.

There are one lakh 56 thousand auto and taxi drivers waiting for help. These are the people who were helped in the lockdown by the government last year as well. To help these people, organizations associated with auto taxis are also demanding.

Arvind Kejriwal, who heads the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi in the wake of the coronavirus infection epidemic, announced a financial assistance of Rs.5000 to permit holders of auto-taxis, e-rickshaw owners and other small commercial vehicles, like last year. The proposal has now been approved by the cabinet. That PSV (Public Service Vehicle) badge holders whose badges and licenses were valid till February 1, 2020 are also eligible for the scheme.

The second wave of coronavirus infection wreaked havoc, causing havoc in many states including Delhi, leading to the decision to be locked up. In such a situation, business, market and employment were affected and this had a direct impact on the earnings of auto-taxi drivers.
