On Monday, the Dahisar police of Mumbai arrested Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) UBT leader Sainath Durge in connection with a morphed video of Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve and a woman leader after questioning him.
As per the information received by the Mumbai police, they arrested six people in the case, took four of them to the court on the same day of their arrest, and sent them into police custody until March 15.
A special investigation team (SIT) of six team lead by an IPS officer, is set to probe the case.
Following the case, the state minister Shambhuraj Desai stated in the state assembly that Dahisar police interrogated the prime accused in connection with the matter.
According to the complaint, some people created the video of MLA Prakash Surve and the woman leader and edited it with an obscene song while they were attending the Maharashtra chief minister during a rally organized at Dahisar on Saturday.
The police have registered a case under sections 354, 509, 500, 34, and 67 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and are investigating the further details in this matter.
