MOSCOW: HUGE FIRE BROKEOUT AT SHOPPING CENTRE

FIREFIGHTERS PUTTING FIRE, MASSIVE 7,000 SQUARE METERS


Moscow: on Friday, Russian firefighters battled a massive blaze which was a size of the football pitch, broke out overnight in a shopping centre in a Moscow suburb, emergency services said.

 

“Firefighters are putting out fires the size of 7,000 square meters (75,300 square feet) in the Moscow” on telegram Russia’s Ministry of Emergency said.

 

In Moscow’s northern suburb of Mega khimki, the fire broke out at the shopping centre.

 

Russian news agencies quoted sources in emergency services saying “arson” was suspected as a possible cause of the blaze.

 

The Interfax news agency quoted a source as saying. Deliberate acts, as in arson, is being considered,”

On social media videos showed a huge fire, in which people were fleeing the burning building into a parking lot.

 

Frim Moscow, Mega Khimki is a large shopping and entertainment centre which is about 7 kilometres from Sheremetyevo airport. The fire is ongoing as of 9 am local time (0600 GMT).
