A mother killed her three - months - old daughter in Haiderpur under Shalimar Bagh police station area of Delhi on Friday. 

 

According to the police, a call was received at around 2:14 pm about the killing of a three - month - old girl by her own mother near Haiderpur. Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman, identified as Anjali Devi (26), lived with her husband Sanjeet Kumar and their newly born daughter. 

 

Police said that Sanjeet and his wife, who worked as a carpenter, were living on rent for some time. The couple started an argument after the woman did not prepare breakfast. The argument soon turned into a dreadful fight and, in the fit of rage, the woman strangled the child by pulling thread worn around her neck. Body of the child was sent for a postmortem. A case has been registered u/s302 IPC and the accused has been arrested. 

 

The landlord gave this information to the police. When the police reached to the spot, it was revealed. Police have taken both the parents into custody by taking the body of the girl child and they are being interrogated. 

 

Deputy Commissioner of police (north - west) Usha Rangnani stated the incident occurred on Friday afternoon and added that the accused, Anjali Devi was arrested from their rented home on the fourth flooring of a constructing in Haiderpur on the identical day. A case beneath Indian Penal Code part 302 (homicide) has been registered. 

 

A senior police officer stated that Devi has allegedly confessed, including that she strangled the toddler with the assistance of a thread worn across the latter's neck.
