Mukesh Ambani the CEO of reliance has been ranked as the second highest CEO globally according to the Brand Guardianship Index 2023. He has taken over the likes of Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Satya nadella of Microsoft to become the highest ranking CEO of Indian origin. The highest ranking woman CEO is Leena Nair, who heads luxury fashion brand, Chanel. She has been placed 11^thin the ranks and is also one of the only seven women CEOs to feature in the list of 100. 

Brand Finance’s ‘Top 100 Brand Guardians 2023’ list places Satya Nadella, Sundar Pichai, Punit Renjen, Shantanu Narayen, N Chandrasekaran, Piyush Gupta in the Top 10. The list has been topped by Jensen Huang, who heads tech company Nvidia, followed by Mukesh Ambani, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen, Google’s Sundar Pichai, Deloitte’s Punit Renjen, Estee Lauder’s Fabrizio Freda, Tata Sons’ N Chandrasekaran, DBS’ Piyush Gupta, and Tencent’s Huateng Ma.

The Brand Guardianship Index includes 'Equity' factors, which reflect current perceptions, 'Performance' factors which reflect the tangible results of these perceptions, and 'Investment' factors which support future performance. “We have constructed a balanced scorecard of measures that capture the ability of a CEO to act as the guardian of their company's brand and a steward of long-term shareholder value,” Brand Finance said in the 2023 report.
