Mumbai Attack Mastermind Sentenced To 15 years Jail in Pakistan.


Zaki-ur-rehman Lakhvi the operations commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba and the master mind behind the Mumbai attacks was sentenced on Friday in Pakistan by the anti-terrorism court for a period of 15 years in jail. Lakhvi, 61 is a UN-prescribed terrorist who is out on bail since 2015 in the Mumbai attack case. He was arrested by a team of the Counter Terrorism Department (CDT) of the Punjab province last Saturday.

After the hearing of the court one of the court official spoke to a prominent news agency and said, “The anti terrorism court (ATC) Lahore convicted Lakhvi for commission of offences of terrorism financing in a case registered by CDT for 15 years under different sections of Anti Terrorism Act,1997.

Ejaz Ahmad Buttar the judge of the court sentenced Lakhvi to five years of rigorous imprisonment with three counts on each and a fine amount PKR 100,000. The court official added that “In default of payment of fine, he will have to undergo an imprisonment of six month each on three counts. He has been sent to prison to serve the sentences.”
