Narada bribery case: Another SC judge withdraws from hearing of Bengal-related case

Another Supreme Court judge, Justice Aniruddha Bose who is a former Calcutta High Court judge, on Tuesday recused himself from hearing petitions related to the Narada bribery case that were filed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the state law minister Moloy Ghatak, reported Live Law. Ms Banerjee and Mr Ghatak challenged the Calcutta High Court's order of refusal to take on record affidavits they filed in connection with the Narada bribery case before the Supreme Court. Mr Bose withdrew from the case saying, "I do not want to hear this case." On Tuesday, the petitions were listed before a vacation bench of the Apex Court comprising Mr Bose and Justice Hemant Gupta. Later, Mr Gupta urged Chief Justice of India NV Ramana to form another bench to hear the case. Last Friday, another judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Indira Banerjee had recused herself from hearing a separate case related to post-poll violence in parts of West Bengal.
