National Capital may receive heavy rainfall throughout the day: IMD

Waterlogging has led to traffic jam in several places of Delhi.


The national capital has been receiving heavy rain and few areas of the city are facing problem of waterlogging. This has led to traffic jams in Delhi.

On Monday, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall throughout the day. The minimum temperature on Monday is likely to be 25 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature is predicted to reach 29 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the minimum temperature remained 32.1 degrees Celsius.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) today (Monday) the AQI remained in the moderate category whereas according to the data, the central pollution board showcased the hourly Air Quality Index (AQI) at 106 at 6 am. The 24 hour AQI remained 81 which comes under the satisfactory category.

According to the Union Minister of Earth Sciences air quality monitoring centre, the system of Air Quality and weather forecasting and research (safar) said, "The overall air quality is in the satisfactory category as forecasted. Scattered rainfall activity in Delhi is likely in the next two days and likely to intensify thereafter. Meanwhile, satisfactory to good AQI is forecasted for the next three days."
