National Capital Reports 501 Covid-19 Cases

Positivity Rate Peaks To 7.72%


On Monday, the National Capital reported 501 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the city. The cases in the capital city are rising gradually which is also taking the Positivity rate to 7.72 percent. 

 

According to the statement given by a senior official, `` Because we are testing those who are extremely sick, senior citizens or people with comorbidities, the possibility of the samples returning positive is high. We have said before that we are not taking this spike lightly and we have made arrangements in hospitals to accommodate a rise in hospitalizations. But till now, the hospital admissions are extremely low,” said a senior health official.

 

India’s tally of daily COVID-19 cases nearly doubled in the past 24 hours to more than 2,000. According to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday. The country logged 2,183 new coronavirus infections, taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4, 30, 44,280, while the active cases declined to 11,542, the data updated at 8 am stated. On Sunday, 1,150 people tested positive for the viral infection across the country.

 

Also, the Delhi Disaster management authority (DDMA) is going to have a meeting tomorrow (April 20). As per the sources, the Authority will take decisions likely to mandate the use of face masks in the city.

 

Meanwhile, few National Capital Regions (NCR) have mandated the use of face masks in the city. States including Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have mandated the wearing of face masks because of rising in the cases of Deadly Covid-19.
