National capital witnesses heavy rain, several areas waterlogged

Social media is flooded with pictures of heavy rain and waterlogging in Delhi.


The national capital is again facing the problem of waterlogging. Delhi witnessed heavy rains and parts of the city were seen flooded with water.

According to the statement the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, “generally cloudy sky, heavy rain/thundershowers, very heavy rain at isolated places towards night.”

According to PTI, the Public Works Department (PWD) announced it has deployed its workers on the ground to pump out water. "Due to heavy rain in the early morning (on Saturday), waterlogging happened at several places. We are undertaking those problems on priority. Our staff is present round the clock to monitor the situation."

Many areas in Delhi, including Moti Bagh, RK Puram, Madhu Vihar, Hari Nagar, Rohtak Road, Badarpur, Som Vihar, Ring Road near IP Station, Vikas Marg, Sangam Vihar, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Pul Prahladpur Underpass, Munirka, Rajpur Khurd, Nangloi and Kirari, have been flooded with water leading to disturbance in traffic. Meanwhile, social media was also flooded with pictures of heavy rain and waterlogging in Delhi.
