National Vaccination Day 2024: History 

In 1988, the World Health Organization (WHO) launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, marking the first step toward eliminating the disease worldwide. Concurrently, in 1995, the Indian government initiated the Pulse Polio Vaccination Program, aiming to eradicate polio from the country. Since then, March 16 has been observed as National Vaccination Day.
