NDA wins Bihar, BJP commits to Keep Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister

NDA's Historic win in Bihar

In a nail biting election in Bihar the counting of the polls went on till late night and finally the picture became clearer. An outstanding performance by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has proved that the N.D.A will be again forming the government in Bihar though the contest seemed close with R.J.D emerging as the single largest party with a total of 75 seats.

BJP’s Sushil Kumar Modi and Deputy Chief Minister said “Nitishji will remain the Chief Minister of Bihar as it was our commitment. There is no confusion on this”.

Chirag Paswan's partnership with NDA is seen as a big contributor to the changed equations. The BJP has firmly denied any secret understanding with Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). The LJP in Bihar has damaged JDU’s more than 20 seats, confessed Sushil Modi.Out of Bihar’s 243 seats the BJP won 74 seats while Nitish’s JDU was restricted to only 43 seats. BJP in the past has never ruled Bihar exclusively and could not have continued to remain in power in the state without Nitish Kumar. With allies like HAM and VIP winning 4 seats each, the NDA is ready to form the government bypassing the magic mark required.
