NDRF to train 100 Delhi civic body employees as first responders in emergency

The employees will be given training to become first responders!


With the arrival of the monsoon season the National capital is gearing up with training of NDRF employees. Several buildings in the national capital collapse during the monsoon every year.

 

In an attempt to tackle such mishaps on the ground, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has collaborated with the National Disaster Response Force to train 100 employees for efficient disaster management so that any natural calamity can be dealt with promptly.


According to the information, The employees will be given basic training to become primary responders through this training programme.


For this, a total of 100 employees of MCD have been identified in the first phase, which will include Beldar, Gardener and Technical staff etc. Training will be given to these employees in the office of Shahdara South Zone located in Udyog Sadan, Patparganj Industrial Area from the 30th June 2022 onwards.


A senior official of the MCD said, "MCD has written a letter to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), requesting to inspect the building along with available facilities like the auditorium and open ground at the office of Shahdara South Zone so that the training program can be imparted in an optimal manner."


The senior official said that through this training program, the employees will be given basic training to become 'primary responders' and it will include safe practices to be followed during rescue, first aid, team coordination, removal of uprooted trees, building debris etc.


Further said, The MCD has 12 disaster centers which mainly deal with the problems of uprooted trees, building collapses, fire at dump sites and water-logging.
