NEET Allotment Crackdown: Agitators Calls Off The Protest

Health Ministry agreed to submit the Committee Report to the SC


New Delhi: After days of agitation for the delayed allotment of NEET students, today it called off as the decision was taken following a meeting with Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association or FORDA has said.

According to the Doctor's front said, the Health Ministry has agreed to submit the Committee Report to the Supreme Court before January 6. Also, assured that no punitive or disciplinary action will be taken by the authorities against the resident doctors who took part in the agitation.

In a release, they added, "The MoHFW will submit the Committee Report to the Supreme Court of India before 6th January 2022 & will publish the NEET-PG 2021 Counselling schedule following the Court hearing on 6th January 2022.”

“The MoHFW regrets the brutal incident of violence by Delhi Police against Resident Doctors who were protesting peacefully on 27th December 2021. No punitive or disciplinary action will be taken by the authorities against any Resident Doctor who took part in the agitation that commenced on 27th November 2021."

On Monday, the Delhi doctors threaten to do a complete shutdown from giving medical services, as police allegedly brutal crackdown of police on the protesters against the delay in college allotments after the NEET postgraduate exam.

According to the visuals, the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) has been spearheading the protest for a month now, said 4,000 of its members ended a sit-in at the Sarojini Nagar police station around midnight on Monday to adhere to the coronavirus night curfew.

The officials of FORDA said they had been stopped from marching towards the Health Ministry's offices earlier in the day.

FORDA got their back from many medical associations. The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has called upon all RDAs associated with it as well as other doctors' associations across India for a complete shutdown of healthcare services from Wednesday.

The AIIMS Resident Doctors' Association has come out in support of FORDA, saying it shall shut down all non-emergency services on Wednesday if no adequate response is received from the government within 24 hours.
