New Delhi: 23 years old IIT student died by suicide

An IIT Delhi student died by suicide, who is 23 years old persuing B tech in department of textile and fiber engineering allegedly hanged himself at his Shahdara residence, police said.

On Wednesday police said, that he was suffering from stress and depression for the last few months and was also undergoing medical treatment for the same.

Police received information about the incident from a hospital, where the victim was brought dead. "Crime and forensics team was dispatched to the spot for inspection but found nothing suspicious," a police official said.

The deceased's parents had gone for a walk on Tuesday night. On their return. when the victim didn't come out of the room, they broke open the door to find him hanging from a weightlifting rod, the official said.

According to dean of students' email, "This is to inform you of the very sad and untimely demise of our B.Techstudent... We need to offer our full support to each other also to deal with this unexpected tragedy.
