New Dengue strain Den 2 found in Noida

Symptoms and severity you should never ignore...

Officials reported on Wednesday that a test sample supplied by the Noida Health Authorities had one of the deadliest strains of the dengue virus, known as DEN2. The new dengue strain is thought to be the virus's most hazardous variety, capable of sharply lowering patients' platelet counts and leaving them with red skin patches.

The more prevalent DEN1 strain, according to the doctors, exhibits symptoms including fever and body aches (which are quite similar to cold and flu symptoms). However, the new dengue virus strain DEN2 can cause severe fever, nausea, chest rashes, and dengue shock syndrome.

Health professionals have told TheHealthSite.com that the DEN 2 strain of dengue can also result in multi-organ failure and, in the worst cases, death in patients with severe signs and symptoms. The majority of dengue patients this time around report having a high fever, as well as nausea, aches and pains, and chest pain.

These symptoms have long been a source of complaint for many people. Dr. Sudeshna Mahapatra explained that in these cases, quick medical intervention is essential to avoid consequences. She continued by saying that these effects could result in an abrupt drop in platelet count as well as an immediate organ failure.

Dengue virus type 2 (DEN2): Severity, Signs, and More

DEN-2 is one of the four dengue virus serotypes that can result in dengue fever. It is a disease that the Aedes aegypti mosquito spreads. The virus can be found throughout tropical and subtropical regions of the world, although South America, Southeast Asia, and the Caribbean are where it is most common.

The DEN-2 virus can cause a mild illness with symptoms resembling the flu, including fever, headache, muscular aches, joint pain, and tiredness. Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF), a more dangerous and potentially lethal strain of the virus, can appear in some cases.

3–7 days following the mosquito bite, DHF symptoms typically appear. They may include:

High fever (40 C/104 F)

Severe headache

Pain behind the eyes

Muscle and joint pain

Rash

Bleeding gums or nose

Easy bruising

Rapid breathing

Low blood pressure

Fluid accumulation in the lungs or abdomen

If you think you may have a DEN-2 infection, you must consult a doctor very away. There is no specific treatment for dengue fever, however early diagnosis and treatment may lessen the effects.
