New Judge appointed as Delhi HC Judge

Justice Amit Sharma took the oath as a permanent judge

On 6 March 2023, Justice Amit Sharma will take oath as the permanent Judge of Delhi High court after the last week notice by the ministry of law and justice. The oath will be managed under the chief Justice of Delhi High Court Satish Chandra Sharma.

Amit Sharma was earlier appointed as the additional judge of Delhi High court in June 2022.

Earlier on 9 January 2023, the collegium of the High court of Delhi recommends the name of Justice Amit Sharma for the existing vacancy of permanent Judge.

Following the information, the Supreme Court collegium has submitted its report to assess the judgement of Justice Amit Sharma and suitability for his appointment as a permanent Judge over an observation made by the department of justice and recommended his name for permanent post.
